Anupam Roy – “The Journey Has Just Begun”

“The journey has just begun”, says Anupam Roy whose chart-buster song Aamake Aamar Moto Thakte Dao in the movie Autograph catapulted him to fame and a career in music. It was not easy as the pursuit of a job took him away from his beloved city Kolkata and music to Bangalore and engineering. The demo cassettes and CDs that he would distribute to music companies would not generate interest. “They are probably still lying there”, Anupam chuckles. But now he is firly entrenched in the music scene of Kolkata and has several projects under his belt – both as a music director and a playback singer. Now he is all set for his maiden US tour. Anupam would be performing live at Bangamela 2011 in Nashville organized by Mid America Bengali Association on July 22-24, 2011.
